a Life in pictures

emigrating to Canada

Des was posted to CFB Borden, Ontario in 1964. So Inge and Des moved to Canada. It was Inge's first time in North America. And it was not what she had been dreaming of, although it was out of Germany. They stayed briefly in the town of Beaton and then about six years at 31 Cleve Loop, on the base, in a PMQ at Borden. Shortly after, her second daughter, Elizabeth was born. Inge worked as much as life would permit with young children, such as taking in typing and a few months of waitressing, laying whatever ground work she could, to prepare for the career and further education that she desired.
